Boarding

Hidden View Farm, LLC currently boards 27 horses, and over half of the population is retired from a show discipline. The farm is the only retirement facility of its kind in Wisconsin. The Sherman’s live on site, so the horses are carefully supervised and cared for on a daily basis.

Nineteen horses occupy stalls that are well lit, matted, and are complete with mineral blocks, two water buckets and a feed bucket. Each stall is cleaned daily and bagged pine shavings are used for bedding, which is completely changed twice a week. The stall lights are kept on until late hay is completed. Barn aisles are also well lit and offer ample space for tacking and un-tacking.

When all horses are turned out daily, weather permitting, they are not in herds, but rather in groups of two to three as well. For “outdoor boarders” (8), there are well built wooden shelters, heated water tanks during winter, and large mineral blocks. Horses outside are only kept in groups of two to three
